HOSPITALITY
Postcard City (New York City)
Type: Urban installation
Year: 1996
In collaboration with Alexander Michel and Raffaella Bortoluzzi, Victoria Benatar Architecture created an award winning design for Habitat - Postcard city, an installation conceptualizing New York public spaces for the hospitality industry.
The aim was to invoke feelings of desire and nostalgia associated with a postcard. The concept of conviviality is expressed as an opportunity to socialize and be known in a public space mostly for tourists.
The project depicts a research library, a graffiti wall, screening rooms, news stands, bus stops, cash machines, a pay phone and a coffee shop.
